Jax Bears Bulletin Board 

Hello Members!

Welcome to the Jax Bears BBS information page.

The idea in mind behind this service is so that you can interact with other bear club members. I.E. - I have a boat and will be home the weekend of blah blah blah, anyone interested in spending the afternoon on the boat? Or Anyone want to go out for Sushi? Also you can share and perhaps find other bear club members with similar interest's, SCUBA Diving, Baha-ing in a 4 x 4, Flea Market shopping, Basket weaving, you get the idea.

At the bottom of this page, you will find a link to the yahoo Bulletin Board service for the Jax Bears. When you arrive at the site, look for the "New User? Sign Up" link at the top and select it.

When signing up, there will be a page asking how you would like emails to be handled. You can select:

  • No emails, (worthless), 

  • special notices ( slightly more useful, but not much), 

  • daily digest (as it implies, a once a day email delivered to you consolidating the day's BBS activity), and 

  • Send emails immediatly. 

Also when signing up, it will be asking what email address you want to register. Please consider this carefully !!! It is our belief that you should sign up and use a FREE Yahoo email address, separate from your regular email address. IF you do sign up for a Yahoo email address, you'll need to make it a point to check your yahoo email as that it does not automatically show up in your regular emails.  

Finally, the sign-up and administration for the JAX Bears BBS is moderated, meaning that final approval of signup is handled manually by the administrator of the BBS; Jim. This is to insure that the BBS remains a forum open to the members of Jax Bears only.  When you sign up for the yahoo group, please email Jim with the following information.

  • Your Real Name

  • Your normal email address that you have JAX Bears biz emails sent to you at, and

  • Your Yahoo Screen name or handle.

This is by no means to be a replacement or be in competition with this website. All club activities are to be posted on the calendar on the website. If you would like to remind club members of an event, then by all means feel free to share it here on the BBS. Do not make the BBS the main source of club activities though.
